When you buy timeshare at a vacation club you're still purchasing time, much like the more traditional method. However, rather than being assigned to a specific "home resort," you'll generally be allotted a certain number of points every year that you can use to "purchase" time at any resort you choose within the network.

If you're interested in purchasing a timeshare, but are unsure of where to begin your search, you might want to start looking on the online timeshare resale market. There are thousands of timeshares for sale all over the world and when you search online you'll have them all at your fingertips. You wont have to sit through the aggressive sales techniques that many resorts employ when selling timeshare and you can instead focus your efforts on finding the perfect resort or vacation club for your needs.
